Some twenty-five years ago, not only did Westerners find the topics of
Feng Shui and geomancy very unfamiliar; even Easterners who had been living
overseas might have been unfamiliar with the art. Today in Europe and
the United States, the study of Feng Shui is no longer a novelty. In
many magazines and even small local newspapers, one frequently finds articles
or advertisements related to Feng Shui. Of these, the majorities are
written by Westerners who research Eastern subjects or are connected with
research centers that study Eastern Feng Shui. Now there are even Western
Feng Shui and Geomancy experts who offer consultation and suggestions
to those in need and teach them how to apply Feng Shui to increase happiness
in their lives.
Among the Feng Shui experts who have assisted in the development of a
peaceful society is Steven Post, whom I have known for over twenty years,
and who my disciples and I respect very much. Steven sent me his original
manuscript as a gift and asked me to write a foreword for
The Modern Book of Feng Shui.
He also requested that I write some Chinese calligraphies
to help illustrate key concepts and to bless his readers, which you find
in this book.
I did not need to read Steven's manuscript to know that the content of
the book must be very educational, substantial, and accurate. His scholastic
attitude was evident early in our relationship by his listening skills
and study habits throughout my workshops and lectures.
I have attended Steven's lectures, and I have been pleased to note that
he is able to use everyday language in explaining his profound knowledge.
He is an esteemed scholar who is familiar with both ancient and modern
studies. When he presents his scholastic views, he quotes from classic
writings and the most reliable sources, thus making his analysis honest,
dependable, and accurate. His Feng Shui studies are not limited to the
Eastern or the Chinese. His scholastic attainment in the geomancy of
the ancient world and the world's religions is also impressively remarkable.
His knowledge of Chinese Feng Shui is deep and very profound, including
the traditional, the non-traditional, Black Sect Tantric Buddhist School,
non-Black Sect Tantric Buddhist schools, Taoist School, esoteric Buddhist
School, Yin-Yang School, and Eclectic School. Of the many educational
institutions now established, Steven Post, Edgar Sung, and Barry Gordon
of GEO are the foremost promoters. GEO (Geomancy/Feng Shui Education
Organization), of which Steven is the CEO, has educated numerous Feng
Shui experts who have made a tremendous contribution to society.
Steven has also traveled to China many times with me and Professor Leo
Chen, the supreme supervisor of the Fourth Stage of Black Sect Tantric
Buddhism, noted scholar, and superintendent of the Lin Yun Temple. During
our visits, Steven gave expert Feng Shui analyses and transcendental adjustment
methods for China's major cities, townships, streets, residences, ancient
temples, airports, seaports, and boundaries.
Steven's vast knowledge, abundance of experiences, and spiritual cultivation
all indicate to me that, had I not read his manuscript, I could assume
that any book he has written must be of excellent standards and would
be extremely influential. I was not disappointed. The content of the
The Modern Book of Feng Shui is indeed rich, the analysis very detailed,
and the transcendental solutions are truly accurate. His careful presentation
begins with the philosophy of Feng Shui, including tai chi, yin-yang,
Eight Triagrams, and Five Elements. More importantly, he has revealed
the unshared secrets exclusive to Black Sect Tantric, including the Three
Secret Reinforcements and the Method of Minor Additions, a process that
allows for Feng Shui adjustments without changing residence or renovating
your house. In addition, he uses many reports and analyses based on actual
case studies.
In Part 1, Steven clarifies the differences and similarities between ancient
Feng Shui and its modern counterpart; introduces the practical side of
Feng Shui from the perspective of Balck Sect Tantric Buddhism, especially
the applications of transcendental solutions, the Eight Trigrams, the
mouth of chi, the three door ba kua method, and the representation and
meaning of each trigram; and conveys how to adjust for missing or enhanced
trigrams. He also explains the theory of the Five elements and its practical
application for exteriors, interiors, and choice of clothing color. In
his description of the Method of Minor Additions, Steven focuses on how
to adjust Feng Shui by using light, sound, life, dynamic processes, weight,
representations of power, color and so forth.
Part II of this book is even more exciting. All the concepts of Black
Sect Tantric Buddhist Feng Shui are introduced clearly, including the
objective, tangible versus the intangible dimension; how to adjust chi,
interior decoration; and how Feng Shui influences one's working environment.
Steven familiarizes reader with personal chi enhancing adjustments in
Part III. He imparts the special method of how to create the precious
treasure box in order to increase one's wealth, longevity, luck, and safety.
In addition, he has described secret methods that I have handed down
to obtain a successful and happy marriage, and how to travel safely.
For those new to Feng Shui, as well as Feng Shui experts, a careful reading
of Steven's book will provide unimaginable benefits. If you bought this
book but were unable to find the time to read it, the good-hearted author's
hard work, time, and spirit would be wasted. If you saw this book but
did not purchase it, then you would lose the good karma of your life,
for this book has been specially blessed and contains various mantra.
According to folk beliefs, any object blessed with mantra should be treated
as if gods and Buddhas are with it and that object can be used to guard
residence and ward off evil. An old Chinese proverb states: Open the
book and you benefit! If you open this book, you will be greatly benefited.
I give the The Modern Book of Feng Shui my strongest commendation.
